5 FORTRESS ORDINIAN BY DANIEL LOVAT CLARK RECONNAISSANCE COMPANY ALPHA, AKA “WOLFHOUNDS” SOL 67TH MARINE DIVISION; SALIENT SUN TASK FORCE ORDINIAN SIX DAYS AFTER PLANETFALL. Some planets had weather. Ordinian’s sky was full of Nekro drones and the flak flechettes spat from autoturrets that shot them down. Groc Yysho wondered what the Ordinian sky was supposed to look like, what it smelled like after a rain. Had it been as beautiful as Archon Ren? He could still see the bones of the planet, the mountains that formed the bowl-shaped valley where the Salient Sun task force had made their planetfall. He could imagine the trees that should be there, the flesh on the bones, the hidden streams splashing down to the crater lake in the center of the valley. It should be beautiful, he decided.
